Healthcare Facilitation

Allison Partners draws on our firm's approach to facilitation, designing meaningful gatherings for small groups as well as large meetings and conferences. We help clients strengthen teams, articulate strategy, set goals, and resolve conflict. Our consultants partner with clients seeking new approaches to facilitating important committees such as Medical Executive, Graduate Medical Education, Quality and Patient Safety, and Professionalism, and we have introduced new formats for Grand Rounds that lead to more interactive, engaged discussions.

We are especially proud of our work supporting strong dyad partnerships between administrators and clinicians. We use the Allison Partners facilitated dialogue process to help establish, strengthen, and sometimes repair relationships between two employees in an organization, whether they are peers, dyad partners, or in a supervisor-direct report relationship.

Our consultants frequently teach and use the Nominal Group Technique (NGT) with groups to support problem identification and solution generation, helping organizations answer questions such as:

  • What are the barriers to achieving population health?
  • What contributes to crowding in the emergency department?
  • What are the barriers to achieving physician engagement?
  • What are the most difficult issues to resolve in your department?

Ultimately, we help clients learn to facilitate meetings on their own. Even when we are serving as facilitator, we make sure clients understand the reasoning behind best practices, building the confidence they need to lead their own meetings going forward.
